A mug design as a donation incentive for one of WETA’s annual fundraisers. I wanted to draw some typography that looked classic or vintage to represent WETA’s humble beginning as a radio station in the 1960’s.

Sketches

I think it’s fun to show my creative process. My sketches usually aren’t even legible. Sometimes I think art is presented in a way that the viewer feels like it popped out of the artist’s head in its final form. That can be discouraging when you make a sketch and (surprise) it’s messy, or when art you’re drawing it isn’t coming out like you imagined. The process is messy and it will always be messy.
